University Life:Expectations Vs Reality

Keeping expectations are good if those expectations turn into reality otherwise expectations are going to be the reason of mental breakdown. We all dream to enter university so that we can live the fullest of our lives. We realise some differences between our university life expectations vs reality. We wish for freedom, carefree life, less workload, spending time with friends etc but the reality is really very different from our expectations before entering into university. We all hear that "university life is the best life"," we do not need to attend all the classes","we can bunk classes easily","there is no workload for study, only chill" and what not which are misconceptions that we realise after getting into university. We realise the true color of university life as well as realise that university life is really very different from outer and inner perspective. Therefore,I am comparing our university life expectations vs reality from my perspective.

1.Freedom:We expect that we are going to get freedom as we are going to stay away from home and will go home only on holidays. We think that we are really going to get our real freedom & can do whatever we want to do but the reality is once you get the freedom that you have been cherishing for so long is not going to give you the pleasure that you really expect. You are going to miss your home, family, friends, homemade meals and then you will realise that this freedom is not that appealing thay you thought it would be.

2.Achieving degree is a cup of tea:Often we think that it is very easy to achieve a degree just because we are studying in a subject that we love or long for but the scenario is completely different.Sometimes we focus on our study and concentrate on a specific subject yet do not get the desire grade which give us mental depression. So,we should be careful and lenient regarding our expectations. We can definitely expect good grades but sometimes even if you do your best, always you cannot handle the situation or we can say it is not in your hand.We have to be faithful and have to work hard to do well in the next rather than giving up.

3.Financial stability:Studying in private universities require a lot of money. We need to choose a university on the basis of our financial condition because if we worry about money all the time then we wil not be able to do well in our studies. We have other works to spend money such as rent, buying books etc. So,we need to keep our financial stability in our mind while choosing any private university so that we do not regret in future.

4.Study,assignment,workload:We have to be mentally prepared to do our study, assignments timely. We should not procrastinate regarding assignments or study. If you do not study regularly then it will be very difficult for you to cover your syllabus before your mid or final exam and if you do not finish your syllabus then definitely you are going to get poor grades. You should not indulge yourself with friends and roaming outside that hamper your study because you have to shine in life as well as have to make your parents proud who are fulfilling your every requirements. So,you need to focus on your study from the very beginning to achieve a decent cgpa.

Finally, mental and physical health is very important.Try to be live a healthy & peaceful life and be happy all the time and accept the realities of life if you think your expectations are being the reason of your mental imbalance
